Song Description
Pastoral Song, an Inner Mongolian folk song, is one of the famous folk tunes that is sung in various parts of China and across the world today. This folk song originally uses another song title, and that folk song describes remembering the death of a loved one. In 1950, Chinese composer Li Qie Fu went to Inner Mongolia and heard this folk song. He then based on this folk song and changed the lyrics to what we now know as Pastoral Song today. The folk song can be found in various versions such as vocal solo with piano, a cappella, mixed choir, and with orchestra.
