Born in Ternate on August 28th, 1991, Rangga started studying music since joining UNIMA CHOIR in 2009 under the guidance of Mr. Tommyanto Kandisaputra. He focused on singing until 2012, and had an opportunity to become one of the soloists in Gala Concert of the 5th Symposium on Church Choral Music “2016 in Bandung performed “Kronung Messe” by W.A. Mozart with Paul Phoenix (UK), Linda Hartono (Indonesia), Ferry Chandra (Indonesia) and conductor Prof. Andre de Quadros (Boston, USA).

He started studying choral compositions since 2011 from Mr. Daud Kosasih (Indonesia), Sir Alejandro D. Consolacion II (Philippines), Dr. Zechariah Goh (Singapore), and Sir Joy T. Nilo (Philippines). Rangga achieved the first place of the Composition Competition in Musica Sacra category at Satya Darma Gita National Choral Festival 2017 for the choral composition “Dies Irae”. Some of his works have been staged internationally and received awards and praise.

They include:

  • “Dies Irae” – performed by The Vocal Consort from Singapore under Mr. Nelson Kwei and became the Grand Champion in A Voyage of Song 2017 in Taoyuan, Taiwan.
  • “Laudate Dominum” – performed by UNIMA CHOIR and successfully won the 5th Bali International Choir Competition 2016 in Mixed Choir category.
  • “Sik Asik / Cinta Satu Malam” – as one of the songs selected to be featured by Taipei Youth Choir with conductor Mr. Tommyanto Kandisaputra in 2016, and by Indonesia Youth Choir in Bali with conductor Sir Mark Anthony Carpio (Philippines) in 2015.
  • “Kyrie Eleison” is perform World Premier by Indonesia Youth Choir in Jeju International Choir Festival & Symposium 2019 in Jeju Island, and conducted by Rangga himself.
