Former conductor of the two-time international Grand Prix winner, University of Baguio Voices Chorale. The group is also the first ever group in the open category in the Philippines to become a hall of famer, winning three-straight championship in the MBC National Choral Competition. (2014, 2015 and 2016). He also led the group to Fukushima, Japan and bagged silver in the Fukushima Vocal Ensemble competition in 2015. On the same year, they competed to win grand prix in A VOYAGE OF SONGS held in Penang, Malaysia. In July 2016, He also brought the group to win a gold medal in Folkloric and a category winner (Gold) in the Mixed Chamber in North Sumatra International Choral Competition in Parapat, Indonesia. Recently, he also served as choirmaster of the Cordillera Chamber Singers that won gold medals and became champion in the folklore category in Singapore and Indonesia.
The author finished his baccalaureate degree at Palawan State University and soon his M.A. at Benguet State University He also finished his Ph.D. degree at the University of Baguio. After spending some time teaching music in the University, he took Master of Arts in Teaching Music at Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University. In 2010, he presented a research work in ISME world conference in Beijing, China. He also presented a paper in the Asia-Pacific Symposium for Music Education Research held in Singapore in 2013 and the following year 2014, he was chosen to present a lecture in the IFCM World Symposium for Choral Music in Seoul, Korea. His papers concerning ethnomusicology were selected to be presented in Azerbaijan, Nepal and Finland.
In recent years, he was invited to sit as Jury in the international choral competitions like the North Sumatra International Choir Competition (NSICC) and Penabur International Choir Festival (PICF). His countless exposure to international training, workshops and seminars has strengthened his skill in arranging choral music particularly in folklore. Some of his works have gained international acclaim in different competitions and performances in different international competitions. He was often commissioned to write and arrange music for handful of choirs in the Philippines including the world-renowned UST Singers.
