Carrey Oliver studied choral conducting, composition, and voice from Baritone, Yap Hon Leong and later in voice from Soprano, Phoon Sook Peng. Carrey received his Licentiate and Fellowship Diploma in Musicology under the St Cecilia School of Music (Australia) and was later awarded a Fellowship Diploma with the Australian Society of Musicology and Composition. He had been training choirs and singers in Sabah since 2004. His clients include local singers, recording artists, and choral groups from government agencies, private institutions, universities, and non-profit organizations. Carrey is the co-founder and Artistic Director for the 1st Sabah Choir Festival in 2015 and serves as the Malaysia-Coordinator for the SCSM International Music Examination (Australia) since 2017. He currently serves as the Executive/Artistic Director of the Oongisvoce Academy of Music and President cum Conductor of The OV Singers Club Sabah. Carrey is an eclectic songwriter, researcher, lifelong learner, and avid fan of Naruto.
