A pianist, composer, and conductor. Michael Kenneth Fabian graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Music major in Music Education, Piano Emphasis, under the tutelage of Asst. Prof. Leonardo W. Guilang, and Minor in Choral Conducting under the tutelage of Dr. Maria Theresa Vizconde-Roldan. He graduated from the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music, finishing as the Valedictorian and the only Summa Cum Laude of his class. He is a recipient of the Rector’s Award for Academic Excellence; a prestigious award bestowed on students of the University of Sto. Tomas who have attained the highest weighted average per academic unit.
He began his music training at the age of 9 as a member of the Tiples de Sto. Domingo under the auspices of Dr. Eugene De Los Santos. He was a scholar-delegate during the 6th Symposium on Choral Church Music organized by the Bandung Choral Society of Indonesia, member of the Philippine Choral Directors Association, Philippine Society for Music Education, and the Treble Choir Association of the Philippines; President of the Music Education Department of the Conservatory for AY 2022-2023, and a scholar of the Friends for Cultural Concerns of the Philippines. He composes and arranges music performed locally and abroad. Some of these works were premiered by the Liturgikon Vocal Ensemble and are published by Muziksea and SMP Press, one of which won a special Jury’s choice award from the PCDA Composition Competition 2022.
Currently, he is a member and assistant conductor of the Quezon City Performing Arts Development Foundation Concert Chorus under Mr. Nicanor Infante, and one of the Associate Conductors of the Young Voices of the Philippines under Dr. Maria Theresa Vizconde-Roldan. The conductor of the St. Martin de Porres Guild Choir of Sto. Domingo Church, and a Faculty Member of the Special Music Program of De La Salle Santiago Zobel School and conductor of the DLSZ Chorale in Ayala-Alabang, Muntinlupa.
