Jem Talaroc

Jem Talaroc acquired his degree in composition and arranging from Silliman Univerity in Dumaguete City. He holds a masters degree in composition from University of the Philippines Diliman under the tutelage of National Artist Ramon Santos.
In 2011 he orchestrated and conducted Stephen Schwartz's Godspell which ran successful performances at the Luce Auditorium. In 2015, his chamber composition earned him the Tsang Houei Hsu Memorial award from the Asian Composers League. In 2018, his orchestral work Kabunyan won the Aning Ginto Award in the Banaue International Music Composition Competition, and he also won the NCCA Composers Prize in the same year for his orchestral work Anima. Now based in Metro Manila, he is working as a music producer, arranger, and composer. He has received commissions by prestigious groups such as the Metro Manila Concert Orchestra, the the UST Symphony Orchestra, the UP Symphony Orchestra, the Grupo 20/21 Modular Music Ensemble, the Philippine Madrigal Singers, The Manila Symphony Orchestra, and the Filipino American Symphony Orchestra among others. He also has considerable experience working on film and musical theater.
