Jinkly Nona is the most famous 'branyo', a dance popular throughout the Portuguese settlement in Malacca. This version is in Kristang, a language spoken by the people of mixed Portuguese and Asian ancestry. The title "Jinkly Nona" is glossed as "beautiful young girl with jingle bells on her ankles". Malay joget tunes are frequently called branyo when performed at Settlement celebrations and, conversely, branyo tunes "Jinkly Nona" are called joget when performed by Malay musicians.
